Telematic Collisions
Praised by Zoom Test Kitchen as the ‘most interactive’ use of web conference tools they have ever seen, Telematic Collisions is a live-networked concert series co-founded by Trevor New and Madeline Hocking, which uses technology as a means to revolutionize the collaborative potential of classical music events.
The concert repertoire features an eclectic mix of traditional classical works, original compositions by Trevor New and Madeline Hocking, and interactive structured improvisations, all within the context of a cutting-edge augmented reality landscape which allows audience members to interact with the music in a novel and unique manner.
It is possible to join in on Telematic Collisions concerts from anywhere in the world with internet access.
The interactive software involved, developed by Trevor New alongside the American Composers Orchestra, has been featured at Enjinn Arts events in partnership with Carnegie Hall, the American Music Therapy Association, Make Music Day, the American Composers Orchestra, Mannes School of Music, and many more.
Telematic Collisions concerts occur on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Here is a list of future Telematic Collisions concerts in upcoming concert seasons (in-person locations will be determined within 2-3 months of each event).

2024-2025: LIVE NETWORKED ORCHESTRA CONCERTS featuring ‘Cohere Touch’ by Trevor New.
See the Telematic Collisions technology in action in upcoming performances of Trevor’s piece for orchestra ‘Cohere Touch’, featuring soloist Madeline Hocking. These concert-workshop hybrid events, generously supported by the Sphinx Venture Fund, will take place throughout fall 2024. They will feature Madeline Hocking and Trevor New performing with the American Composers Orchestra, the Detroit Symphony, the Symphony of North West Arkansas, and more, with opportunities for audience members to join in virtually and affect elements of the live performance in real time. Exact dates will be released in summer 2024, in advance of the 2024-2025 concert season. Stay tuned for the livestream links, and information on in-person venues!
CO-CREATION SESSIONS - SIGN UP BELOW!
Supported by the New York State Council for the Arts, this will be a live-networked workshop and concert series in ten parts on a monthly basis throughout 2024. Attendees will bring artistic concepts, compositions, and musical material to the workshops, wherein Trevor New and Madeline Hocking will help them integrate these materials into the augmented reality environment and explore the possibilities of how their ideas can flourish within this interactive performance landscape. Material from the workshops will then be performed in live-networked concerts taking place on the same day.
This series will involve students and music instructors from musical institutions throughout the US and the world, including the ‘Nile Beats Artists’ (Uganda) led by Walusimbi Haruna, educators and students from Montclair State University, and members of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, the Stringendo Orchestra School of the Hudson Valley, members of Dutchess Community College, and more.
